Windows 8: Log Into Your System Automatically

If you’re using the Windows 8 Developer Preview, it gets annoying having to log in every time you start it up. Here’s how to make your Windows 8 system log in automatically.

Each time you launch Windows 8 you need to log in with your Windows Live ID.

To bypass the Log in screen, log into Windows 8. At the Metro UI screen, hold down the Windows key and press [R].

You’ll be brought to the Desktop with the Run box displaying. Type: netplwiz and hit Enter.

Run Line

The User Accounts window opens. Uncheck – Users Must Enter a User Name and Password to Use this Computer. Click OK.

Next, you’re prompted to type in your user name and password for the account you want to log in with. Click OK.

Hit the Windows key again. This brings you back to the Metro Interface – restart your system.

That’s it. After your system reboots, you’ll still see the Welcome screen. But your system will automatically log in.
