How to Clear Your Spotify Queue

Spotify’s queue feature is great to create one-time playlists. But you may need to clear your Spotify queue and add new tracks. Here’s how.

Spotify includes a convenient queue feature that lines up songs or podcasts you want to listen to in succession. But if you aren’t happy with the current content list, you can clear your Spotify queue.

You can add songs to your queue by selecting the option to do so—there’s no limit on what you can add. However, you may want to clear it because the wrong songs are queued up or to fix Spotify playback issues.

Luckily, Spotify allows you to clear individual songs or delete the entire queue in one fell swoop on mobile or desktop using the steps below.

How to Add Songs to Your Spotify Queue

Adding songs to your Spotify queue on mobile or desktop is straightforward using the following steps.

1. Launch Spotify on mobile, desktop, or web.
2. Find the song you want to add and tap the three-dot button next to the track.
3. Select the Add to queue option when the menu appears.
4. An Added to Queue verification message will appear at the bottom of the Spotify screen.

How to Clear Your Spotify Queue on Desktop

The following steps will show you how to clear your queue on the desktop or web version of Spotify on your computer.

1. Launch Spotify on your computer.
2. Click the Queue icon in the bottom right corner by the volume slider.
3. The list of songs and podcasts in your queue will appear.
4. To remove an individual song, right-click a song you want to clear and select the Remove from queue option from the menu.
5. If you want to delete the entire content queue, click the Clear queue button in the Next in Queue section.
6. Click the Yes button when the verification message appears. Note the action cannot be undone, and you’ll need to rebuild the queue again.

How to Clear Your Spotify Queue on Mobile

If you aren’t near a computer, you can clear your Spotify queue on an iPhone, iPad, or Android device from the app using the following steps.

1. Start playing a song or podcast and display the album art and playback controls.
2. Tap the Queue button in the lower right corner of the screen.
3. Select the song(s) you want to clear and tap Remove in the lower left corner.
4. If you want to remove the entire queue of songs and shows, tap Clear Queue in the Next in Queue section.

Managing Your Spotify Queue

Whether you’re on a computer or mobile device, removing tracks from your queue will clear them across all devices you’re signed into with the same Spotify account.

It’s also important to mention that you can rearrange the songs when you open the Spotify queue. On your computer, click and drag the songs in your desired order.

To rearrange tracks in your Spotify queue on mobile, tap the three horizontal lines next to a track and drag it to the spot on the list where you want it.

Clearing Your Spotify Queue

If you set up your Spotify queue to play certain songs or podcasts, sometimes you may want to clear it. Perhaps you want to change genres of music or add different podcasts to the listening order.

Using the Spotify queue option is a perfect way to create one-time playlists of your favorite tracks. Just don’t forget that you can clear your Spotify queue on mobile or desktop if you want to change things up.
