How Do I See File Size in Google Drive?

  1. Open the Google Drive website and sign in.
  2. Locate a file you want to check.
  3. Select the file.

  6. After downloading the file, use your PC or Mac’s built-in archive tool to extract the folder’s contents.
  7. On Windows, you can then check the file size of the downloaded folder by right-clicking the extracted contents and selecting Properties. The information will be listed in the Properties box.
  8. On Mac, you can check the file size of the downloaded folder by right-clicking the extracted contents and selecting Get Info. The information will appear in the Info box in the General section.

  9. If the folder is too big, you can return to your Google Drive storage in your web browser and move or delete files to reduce the size.

If you have Google Drive installed, you don’t need to download the folder—it’s already accessible on your device. You can easily check the size of folders by using Finder (on Mac) or File Explorer (on Windows) using similar steps.
